  1. VoltMeter

  3. VoltMeter was built on the application DataLogger, so I will only show you the changes in menu items.
  4.  
  5. Specs…
  6.  
  7. Display of incoming data as Text, Large Digits, Bar Graph or as a Dial with a pointer.
  8.  
  9. Able to save data as a file or down load data to a target processor in one command.
  10.  
  11. A range of Baud rates and text sizes.
  12.  
  13. Display data relative to 5 volts FSD or as a count from 0 to 255.
  14.  
  15.  MultiFinder or System 7.0 does work but......  the Finder cannot guarantee ‘processor time when required, you may want to Format a disk or some other horrible task.

  17.  Screen Redraws are Not supported, be careful. Avoid using dialog boxes.

  19. In combination with Gumboot, VoltMeter does the following
  20.  
  21. Sample rate from 1 per second for periods of 1 minute or greater, can be overridden.
  22.  
  23. A Faster rate which is dependent on the Mac, 5 -10 samples / second on a Mac SE / Classic.
  24.  
  25. 8 bit Analogue to Digital conversion, with a maximum rate of 65,000 samples per second. 19.5mV per count, maximum reading with Gumboot is limited to 3.8 Volts by the buffering. Maximum input voltage, + 30 volts. This section can be bypassed.

  27. Up to 8 A/D channels, 4 channels are used by this software.

  29. The nature of data coming from Gumboot can be changed by running another Driver, data could be A/D conversions, counts, times, periods, or combinations of various types.

  31. Files are saved as TEXT, these can be opened by Word processors and Spread sheets.

  33. The Menu(s).

  35. Display
  36. Specs Window
  37. This item hides or shows the specs window.
  38.  
  39. Font
  40. This item changes the font used by this application. Using ATM or TrueType greatly improves the display.

  42. Bar
  43. The display is a 4 bar graph scaled to fill the window.max. reading is 5 volts or 255, whichever type of data translation is applicable.

  45. Dial
  46. This sets the number of channels to one, I/P 1, and draws a dial and pointer. 0 is at the bottom and the pointer moves clockwise to F.S.D. back at the same point. This allows this display to show voltage or ‘Wind Direction’ depending on hardware.

  48. Digits
  49. The window displays incoming data as a Large Digital Display, the Font is selected through the Font menu item.
  50.  
  51. File, Edit, Commands, Baud and Option menus operate much as they do for DataLogger.
